Kuro 5ei Identity Design

I created a bold, futuristic identity for DJ KURO 5EI, merging cyberpunk aesthetics with Japanese underground club culture. The design system revolves around a masked, neon-drenched persona—part human, part machine—embodying the artist’s fusion of raw analog beats and glitchy digital experimentation.

Album art, social assets, merch (vinyl slipmats, jersey designs), and immersive live visuals.

Vibe: "If Akira’s Kaneda spun a colorful energetic techno in a Shinjuku basement."
The primary challenge was to merege cyberpunk aesthetics with real-world club culture without feeling gimmicky or overdesigned. Designing a wearable yet otherworldly mask that adapts to performances.
The "KURO 5EI" wordmark morphs between clean typography and controlled distortion—optimized for merch, posters, and animated visuals.

Fans associate the mask and logotype with KURO 5EI’s "analog-meets-digital" sound.
