The Maggot

First part of a project I am working on, about anxiety and other mental disorders. This is the first piece of "Little Nightmares-The maggot" a conceptual video series crafted to accompany the upcoming release by Chromatic Aberrations band, weaving together visceral imagery and abstract narrative. The project comprises a series of short, atmospheric video pieces that revolve around a central character — a grotesque creature resembling a maggot.

Through its slow, and deliberate erratic movement and unsettling metamorphosis, the maggot-creature becomes a visual metaphor for themes of decay, rebirth, identity, and the primal nature of transformation. Each video stands alone as a fragment — a feverish glimpse into a surreal ecosystem — yet together, they form a larger arc that parallels the emotional and sonic trajectory of the band’s new music.

The videos will explore various symbolic environments: industrial ruins, damp organic landscapes, claustrophobic interiors — all blurring the line between the biological and the mechanical, the real and the imagined. The aesthetic draws from body horror, experimental cinema, and performance art, aiming to provoke, disturb, and ultimately, invite reflection on the beauty within the abject.

This is not a traditional music video — it is a conceptual experience, where sound and image co-evolve. The creature becomes the vessel for emotion, embodying the raw energy and vulnerability pulsing beneath the surface of Chromatic Aberration's sound.
